All our trainers follow the feminist sel f-defense tradition (like Wen Do) and focus on a somatic approach\, combin ing both verbal\, physical and psychological self-defense techniques.\n\nF eminist self-defense understands violence as a systemic phenomenon rooted in power relations. It aims to strengthen both individual and collective c apacities to face and respond to violence while also fighting the systems that produce it\, by restoring agency\, choice\, and freedom in contexts s haped by inequality.\n\nIn this workshop we will support you to :\n\n* lin k individual experiences of violence to systemic power relations\n* build self-confidence and a sense of security\n* develop body and emotional awar eness\n* cultivate stress management and resilience strategies\n* learn ps ychological\, verbal and physical self-defence techniques\n\n✨ Who is th is workshop for ? ✨\nThis workshop is for everyone who identifies as les bian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer\, intersex\, asexual\, and mor e (LGBTQIA+)\, as well as straight cis-women who are allies to the lgbtqia + community.\n\nWe want to create a space where people who face oppression from the cis-hetero-patriarchy can come together to share their experienc es and ways of dealing with these common types of violence. A place for su pport and solidarity\, where everyone can connect and find new ways to cop e with these challenges.\n\nWe don’t believe in "safe spaces" and prefer the concept of accountability. We are aware that situations of violence c an also occur within queer feminist spaces. Our intention is to create a s pace where we can collectively express solidarity\, respect\, understandin g\, and kindness\, while also having the opportunity to express what’s n ot working\, so we can address and resolve tensions in a constructive way. \n\n✨What language ? ✨\nThe workshop will be facilitated in English.\n \n✨When ? ✨\nSaturday\, 21 February\, from 10:30 AM to 6 PM (doors ope n from 10 AM).\n\n✨Where ? ✨\nAt Grands Carmes\nRue des Grands Carme s 20-22\n1000 Bruxelles\n\n✨ Accessibility ? ✨\nThe venue was selected to meet as many neurodivergent accessibility criteria as possible (sensor y sensitivities\, type of lighting\, ambient noise\, multiple rooms\, etc. ). Given our limited budget\, we were unfortunately not able to find a “ perfect” space.\nThe venue is not wheelchair accessible\, there are some stairs to enter the main room and stairs to go to the toilet.\nA quiet sp ace is available for isolation.\nNoise-canceling headphones available.\nWi de chairs without armrests for larger-bodied people.\n\nTransport accessib ility :
