SUMMARY:Intro to Radical Collective Care
DESCRIPTION:You can apply via this form: https://beta.framaforms.org/coco-m
arch-2026\nYou can chose to either apply for one or both of the evenings.
The first evening will focuss more on theory and practices for (co)regulat
ion\, whereas the second evening will look at obstacles to care and collec
tive practices to overcome those obstacles.\n\nRADICAL COLLECTIVE CARE\n\n
In this workshop we explore different ways to take care of ourselves\, eac
h other and our collectives.\n\nWe will offer some theory on “nervous sy
stem” regulation (feeling calm or safe-enough) and how this can enable y
ou to have more choice in your response to situations. We will also offer
some practical tips on how to do this alone or with others.\n\nWe will exp
lore why radical collective care should be a central practice for any orga
nisation or collective that wants to work for social justice and how we ca
n take a feminist approach to the division of care tasks. We take inspirat
ion from practices from movements for anti-racism\, lgbtqia+ rights and di
sability justice.\n\nWHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR\n\nThis workshop is for ever
 yone who identifies as lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer\, in
tersex\, asexual\, and more (LGBTQIA+)\, as well as straight cis-women who
are allies to the lgbtqia+ community.\n\nWe want to create a space where
people who face oppression from the cis-hetero-patriarchy can come togethe
r to share their experiences and ways of dealing with these common types o
f violence. A place for support and solidarity\, where everyone can connec
t and find new ways to cope with these challenges.\n\nWe don’t believe i
n “safe spaces” and prefer the concept of accountability. We are aware
that situations of violence can also occur within queer feminist spaces.
Our intention is to create a space where we can collectively express solid
arity\, respect\, understanding\, and kindness\, while also having the opp
ortunity to express what’s not working\, so we can address and resolve t
 ensions in a constructive way.\n\nPRACTICAL INFO &amp\; ACCESSIBILITY\n\nT
he workshop will take place at les At Grands Carmes\, Rue des Grands Carme
s 20-22\, 1000 Bruxelles. We will be in the room la Gemini\, on the right
when you enter.\n\nDoors open at 17h30 and we will start the workshop at 1
8h sharp. Depending on participant needs we might implement a safety proto
col for respiratory virus' which means you need to be present at 17h45 lat
est. We close around 21h.\n\nWe will provide tea\, coffee\, biscuits\, but
no full meal. So if you need to eat before 21h\, please bring something t
hat is easy to eat and doesn't need to be heated.\n\nThe venue was selecte
d to meet as many neurodivergent accessibility criteria as possible (senso
ry sensitivities\, type of lighting\, ambient noise\, multiple rooms\, etc
.). Given our limited budget\, we were unfortunately not able to find a
“perfect” space. The venue is not wheelchair accessible\, there are so
me stairs to enter the main room and stairs to go to the toilet.\nA quiet
space is available for isolation\, noise-canceling headphones available. W
ide chairs without armrests for larger-bodied people.\n\nWe alternate seat
ed and standing exercises\, but you are welcome to stay seated\, stand up\
, or leave the room at any time.\nThis workshop is open to everyone\, rega
rdless of physical condition. However\, we want to point out that the venu
e and the workshop content are unfortunately not fully accessible for peop
le with reduced mobility. For any specific needs\, please contact us : tra
ining@feros.be or leave us a voice message via DM (Messenger or Instagram)
.\n\nThe workshop will be facilitated in English. Facilitators may be able
to provide occasional translatation to Dutch or French and you may expres
s yourself in this language if that's more accessible to you.\n\nOur facil
itation is based in experiential learning. Our methods engage participants
on the level of heart (emotions)\, head (thinking and concepts) and hands
  (practical experience / embodiment).\n\nOur facilitators don’t position
themselves as experts\, but rather draw on the collective experience and
knowledge present in the group. So come prepared to share your personal ex
periences :)\n\nWhat to bring? Something to write and something to drink w
ater. If you like to stim (fidget) be sure to bring something to keep your
hands busy during the workshop (soft toy\, stress ball\, stim toy\, croch
et\,.....)\n\nFINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION\n\nWe strive to offer our activities
to those who need them\, whatever their financial capacity. As a young col
lective\, we have no fixed income and rely mostly on participant donations
to organise our activities.\n\nMoney should not be an obstacle to taking
part in this workshop. The real cost is 30 euros per person. We encourage
all those who can to give more\, to create space for those who can contrib
ute less financially. In particular\, we are asking white\, able-bodied\,
university-educated or otherwise privileged participants to contribute mor
e\, up to 60 euros per person.\n\nWe will send you our bank details after
you have attended the workshop. If you would like to make an anonymous don
ation\, please contact us.\n\nTRAINERS\n\nThe training will be facilitated
by Melanie (she/her)\, Murmure (she/her) and Robin (he/they). All three f
acilitators are white and hold Belgian passports. They bring diverse lived
experiences across gender and sexuality\, disability\, (mental) health\,
 class\, education and housing.\n\nWHAT IS FEROS\n\nFeros is a collective o
f facilitators organising workshops that support individuals\, groups\, co
llectives and organisations that work towards social and ecological justic
e in Belgium\, the Netherlands and France.\n\nAll of our trainings are fir
mly rooted in a queer\, intersectional\, decolonial feminist political ana
lysis.\n\nWe organise both open workshops\, to which anyone can apply\, an
d bespoke workshops for existing organisations\, groups or collectives.
